Weather in Delhi: Three were killed when intense rain pounded the city, causing highways to become flooded and wrecked structures.

On Wednesday night, heavy rains caused havoc in Delhi, submerging a major portion of the city and leaving many stranded as important routes were congested with never-ending traffic.

Anil Kumar Gupta, the dead, was inside the building when it fell about 8:30 p.m., according to a police official. The officer further stated that he passed away at Saint Stephens Hospital from his wounds.

On Wednesday night, Tanuja, 22, and her son Priyansh, 3, perished after falling into a flooded sewer while attending a weekly market in the Ghazipur neighborhood of east Delhi. According to the officials, the event happened at approximately 8 p.m. close to the Khoda Colony neighborhood, where the roadside drain was still being built.

The two were extracted with the assistance of cranes and divers, and they were carried to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced them deceased, according to the police official.

According to the officials, the Delhi Police got 2,945 complaints about traffic jams till 7 am, 127 calls about waterlogging, 27 calls about building collapses, and 50 calls about trees falling.

Around 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday, a wall collapsed in south Delhi's Defence Colony, injuring a woman and damaging an automobile, according to a police official.

According to the officer, at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, a section of a home wall collapsed in the Shastri Park neighborhood of northeast Delhi, injuring two other persons.

On the other hand, the police withheld any information on the injured.

According to the officer, a school wall fell in Daryaganj, central Delhi, on Wednesday night, causing damage to five automobiles as well.

He also mentioned another incidence in which a wall collapsed in the Vasant Kunj neighborhood of southwest Delhi, resulting in damage to at least six automobiles.

Delhi was added to the meteorological office's list of "areas of concern" in the National Flash Flood Guidance Bulletin due to the heavy precipitation.

  According to the officer  issued advisories telling residents to stay indoors, lock their windows and doors, and avoid making needless trips.
